He helped organize and amplify the 2018 gun violence protests and marches calling for sensible gun controls. Together with his sister Laura Hogg\, he wrote the book Never Again: A New Generation Draws the Line. Hogg will speak with Hannah Pingree\, the youngest woman ever elected both majority leader of the Maine House of Representatives and Speaker of the House\, about getting young progressive people in office. \nSee the COA Summer Institute Schedule for more information.

SUMMARY:Canvassing Training
DESCRIPTION:Studies show that community canvassing works at increasing voter participation and also more wins for candidates we support. You can do community canvassing on your time schedule and you’ll see it makes a Real Difference. About 20% of eligible voters did not vote in 2024 and if we cut that in half in 2026 it will make a wave of a difference. Again\, it doesn’t take much time but is highly effective and rewarding. \nTraining will be held at the HCDC office in Ellsworth. If you would like to participate in canvassing training\, go to Make a real difference by canvassing and submit the interest form.
