HCDC Young Dems Committee announces 2026 internships

The HCDC Young Democrats committee is announcing the rollout of three exciting course credit/stipend opportunities for the upcoming year. Please help spread the word!

Social Media Content Creator

HCDC is seeking a Social Media Content Creator to help promote our values, issues, and candidates in fresh, creative, and engaging ways. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, proficiency with short-form video creation, and knowledge of best posting practices on the major video platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok). The candidate will be expected to post at least once a week, as well as foster engagement with posts to generate interest, engagement, and action.

The candidate must have an interest in and support of Democratic ideals, though actual party registration is not required. Familiarity with policy, procedure, and the workings of government a plus. Local Maine residents (i.e., residents of Hancock and surrounding counties) preferred. Remote work is an option for the right candidate. Interested parties should contact vicechair@hancockdems.org. Please provide samples of relevant work.

Tech Advisor

HCDC is seeking a Computer and Technology Support Specialist to help bolster our operations in the run-up to the 2026 election. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of basic productivity tools, specifically the Google Workspace/Suite of tools; email, mailbox management with multiple accounts and workflows; and Zoom. Familiarity with A/V equipment, security, and/or AirTable a plus. The candidate will be asked to help advise and train volunteers who may have limited tech experience, and offer general technical support as needed. This role requires good people skills, communication skills, and problem-solving. Local Maine residents (i.e., residents of Hancock and surrounding counties) preferred, and remote work is an option for the right candidate. If interested please contact secretary@hancockdems.org.

Political Intern

Seeking a high school or college-level student to intern with HCDC as an opportunity to learn about and influence local and regional politics and campaigns. May be asked to attend events and rallies and report their perspective to membership; lead canvassing and get-out-the-vote efforts within their communities and networks; testify for legislation; and more. This internship is an excellent opportunity to develop public speaking, writing, and leadership skills. Ideal candidate is conscientious, motivated, willing to take initiative, and of course dedicated to Democratic values. Local Maine residents (i.e., residents of Hancock and surrounding counties) preferred, and remote work is an option for the right candidate. Candidate interests and availability will dictate stipend.
