Giving News: Money Talks

Why giving matters more than ever

We all wish politics were not the massive money game it is. But Citizens United is a reality, and our country needs a sea change to correct course.

HCDC’s grassroots strategies are strong counters to bloated spending from campaigns funded by special interests, such as we see in Maine’s Senate race.

That is why HCDC is critical to winning this Fall. For example:

  • With short notice and under difficult circumstances, HCDC leaders and volunteers invested hundreds of hours to organize and oversee the complicated process resulting in Troy Jackson’s pick to run against Susan Collins.
  • Volunteers are talking to voters, answering questions, encouraging voting, and writing thousands of personal postcards.
  • Interns are helping engage youth and develop a growing and influential social media presence.
  • A volunteer tech team is advising on infrastructure and improving data management tools, so we can quickly and efficiently reach out to our growing base of volunteers and friends

Please, give as generously as you can. On the morning after Election Day, let’s have no regrets about what we could have done. HCDC needs to raise over $28,000 before the end of the year, and we hope you will join the effort. Please Give Now.
